Marla Jensen began her work with young people at a young age. Through teaching, swim lessons, and the United Methodist Church camping ministry, she has worked with kids of all ages from the start. Marla graduated with her Bachelor’s degree and Teaching Credential from Loyola Marymount University. After teaching the primary grades for two years, she put teaching on hold and began work as a private tutor. She is currently working towards her Masters of Counseling degree along with her Pupil Personnel Credential and California Counseling Licensure at Loyola Marymount University.

She hopes to become a junior high school counselor and eventually work as a therapist in a private practice working with children and teenagers. Within the United Methodist Church, Marla has volunteered as a counselor and dean in training for the Santa Barbara District camping ministry since 2006. Her time spent at camp gave her the drive to go back to school for her Master’s degree as well as pursue a job as a youth director. She is thankful for all that the church has done in her life and hopes to help guide our youth towards their dreams, as well
