Sunday School

Children are the Focus

Welcome to the Westchester United Methodist Sunday School Program,
where your children are a part of a warm, supportive community.

Our dedicated staff values children and
encourages them to think and grow
in their understanding of the Christian faith.
Through the use of a Bible-based curriculum,
children are introduced to God’s word and His Son, Jesus Christ.
Lessons are presented at an age-appropriate level
in a bright, clean classroom.
Each lesson is enriched with song, dance,
role play, and/or a craft.

We welcome you to visit our facilities,
meet our minister and staff
and review our lesson plans at any time.

Children's Sunday School

Children begin their church day at 10:00 a.m.
when they accompany their parents to the sanctuary. There, they participate in a brief period of formal worship
and Children’s Time.
At Children’s Time, the pastor
or another member of the congregation
shares a brief interactive lesson with the children.

At 10:15 a.m., children are dismissed and accompanied
to their Sunday School classes by our Sunday School staff.
From 10:15-11:15 a.m., children are nurtured
in the friendly, informative atmosphere of their Sunday School class.
At 11:15 a.m., parents may meet their children
in the Education Building courtyard
and mingle with other families
before continuing on
to the Fellowship Hall
for refreshments.

Youth Sunday School Jr. High and High School Youth
also have a Sunday School class and are on the same schedule as the children.
Dedicated volunteers provide a warm and supportive environment

for youth to gather, discuss faith issues and share in a lesson.
Youth are also welcome to stay and participate in worship.

Holy Communion

All children and youth partake of communion the first Sunday of the month,
as a member of the congregation.
After the Sunday School lesson,
the children will return to the service to sit with their parents
and all partake of the sacrament together.

Questions?

If you have any questions, please call the church office
and leave a message for the Pastor or the
Sunday School Superintendent.

We are more than happy to discuss your children with you.

May God bless you and your family,
